Dec 10-Dec 14

***Note: there were no updates last week, because the week consisted of different assessments.  We did end up starting Unit 4 on Friday which wasn't expected, but that's it.***

I FINALLY figured out how to create a new page for each week.  As I mentioned before, this site is much harder

for me to use than Schoology, but I knew there had to be an easier way around things!  If your email address is current in Synergy you received a couple of emails from me yesterday giving a snapshot of this week.  I am copying that information to here for those who may not have received the email (check your spam folders to as it was a mass email.

First email:

"Until the blogs can be updated this is a quick snapshot of what this week entails.  The students received a vocabulary page with a graphic organizer on the back Friday. They will be working on adding/subtracting and multiplying/dividing one step equations.  They are required to "show" work and that they balanced their equations on both sides.  They will bringing home practice sheets with examples.  I will send this week's homework after school today."

Second email:

"The students tore out all pages from 451-456 today to use as a resource since it provides examples.  We did some problems in class.  They are to keep those pages for their extra practice.

The graded homework which is due Friday is page 462 and 489.  The specific problem numbers for each page are listed below.

462: 3-6, 8, 10-11

489: 2-6

They will have other homework this week this is meant to help provide extra practice and prepare them for their Touchstone and upcoming quiz. Please allow your child to watch videos on multiplication and division equations as well to help prepare them for the next topics.

**I will be absent Friday Dec 14, but Dr. Obi teaches with me 1st, 2nd and 5th period so she will collect the work.

The students will be taking their first MI (Math Inventory-which is similar to the purpose of the RI) this Friday as well.  Please encourage your child to take this seriously as it does affect placement in certain classes later.
